Ipe and Slate

This project employs the finest natural materials, ipe and slate. While worlds apart, these two materials work so well and last so long together. Ipe is a Brazilian hardwood known for its ability to last in trying conditions like Nova Scotia. Slate is a local product that is mined and manufactured here in our province.

This project incorporates many features in a very small space. On top of the task of limited space, our customer challenged our carpenters to create a solution that lets light from the upper deck down to the covered patio. Like any hitch thrown at the Trim team, it was solved for the customer and created another great feature to the overall design. This project was a provincial award-winner in the residential specialty category.
